The UNU Logo was derived from the texture on the side of the Sheepuff from the Aether mod.
The UNU-Cyan that has defined UNU was used because I felt it was a closest color to the Sheepuff in the Minecraft text color code, &3.
BlackThorne was named after the city with the 8th gym in Pokemon Crystal.
BlackThorne is spelled with an 'e' at the end because an old friend of mine (bziir) felt it was fancier.
BlackThorne's first apperance in Minecraft was as the name of my town on an old Towny server bziir and I played on, Eternal Realms
UNU was invented as a concept in Early 2014 as a simple Megacorp. It didn't recieve a name until Augst 27th 2014, where the name was derived from the Markings on an Aether Sheep.
UNU recieved its name and logo August 27th 2014, and the first UNU vehicle was the UNU MS-285-LFA, It was in-game September 1st, but was never released.
An early UNU Vehicle that never released was the UNU RG-283-LTA, a futuristic troop transport based on a vehicle from Spider-Man: Web of Shadows made in July 2015
The first UNU Vehicle to be released was the UNU Mule, made in early 2016, it is still with UNU today. While it has recieved updates, the core design remains unchanged.
At 6:45 pm PT, February 13th, 2022, UNU Surpassed the OCP
The 'Praise the UNU' emoji was not made by UNU, it was actually made by GAP
The first person to experiment with shaders on UNU (and in MTS) was Egglanoir, a regular player on my modded server. It would be years before any pack got full shader support.
Bodyroll in MTS was first experimented on by UNU with the Police Rabbit Wagon. A video was released on March 26th, 2019 demonstrating this. It was deemed too janky. Other packs experimented with bodyroll over the years. UNU Was the first pack to implement a consistent bodyroll effect pack-wide on March 26th, 2022, three years after the first tests.
The Engine Stand was originally going to be required for building engines, but then I added the Screwdriver to MTS.
The Toolbox was going to trigger engine modification on an engine stand or on a vehicle, but I later revised the system to use the Screwdriver (added to MTS by me for this purpose).
The UNU Director was named after the Director from Control, particularly as featured in Stupendium's 'Slide into the Void'
UNU heavy transport vehicles tend to be named after labor-performing animals, like Mules.
UNU passenger cars from the 1940s tend to be named after military-related professions, like Mariners.
UNU passenger cars from the 1960s tend to be named after 'civilized' professions, like a Broker.
Utilitarian UNU vehicles tend to be named after animals, like the UNU Rabbit or the UNU Steed.
Vehicles from UNU's early history had boring names like the 'UNU Automobile' because UNU initially manufactured vehicles to fund their research laboratory. When it became apparent that UNU would be manufacturing many vehicles, they were retroactivly named after extinct animals.
UNU made aware of Modrinth thorugh an Aether updated video.
The glider Derrick is using in the UNU Parts Lite logo was a comissioned item, and is based on a Da Vinci glider design.
The Flashing headlights on emergency vehicles was inspired by Need for Speed HP2, a game I played a lot back in elementary school.
Derrick's iconic suit was originally created as a CustomNPC skin for TEOM Pixelmon for the 'Gentleman' trainer: https://youtu.be/B_xz-9t7XNw?t=194
